General Bow Advice and Notes

Bow weights

Bow weights increase or decrease dependant on your draw length, roughly 2/3lbs per inch greater or lesser than 28”. As an example, if you buy a 40lb bow and shoot at 26” your probably shooting 37/38lb on the fingers. This can be important for comfort as well as arrow choice.

If you buy your arrows at the same time as your new bow, I will personally shoot them together to insure the best match possible.

Nocking Point

The nocking point is a small string or brass ring(s)to mark the position of the arrow on the string. It purpose is to help hold the arrow on the string at the optimal point. The position can be a personal choice for some archers; however, I am happy to pop one free on for you at your request. This is normally set at roughly ½” above square, but does depend on the bow type.

Grip Upgrades

Grip upgrades are available to suit your taste. Just select and choose the type you require. If you have anything else in mind please contact me and we will have a chat about it.  Please allow a little extra time for delivery.

Personalisation.

I can do engraved personalisation. Maybe your name, club, a quote or even a simple image. Please select this option then contact me with your requirements. (don’t worry I’ll let you know if your idea is doable or not (refunded off course if I advise against the image) Simple designs. Larger arm braces can take something fancier though. Brace Heights

Most off my bows have a 7” brace height although many archers will adjust to suit themselves by twisting the string to increase or decrease. When the bow shoots at its quietest its normally at the most efficient and pleasing point. I start low, twist a few times and shoot some arrows up to about 8/8 ½” and then back down again until I find the ‘sweet spot’.
